Location in standard build: Administration > Drop-Down Lists > Organisation and People Categories
You can place orgs/people on your system into Organisation and People Categories. These categories can be anything you need them to be. They are commonly used for categorising Referrers, so that they can be grouped for reporting - e.g. the categories that might be used could be;
- NHS Organisations
- Councils
- Voluntary Organisations
Setting up Organisation and People Categories
Click on the menu item to see the list of Categories already set up on the system, if there are any.
Click on "Create New Category" to create a new one, or click on the name of an existing one to edit it.
You can now enter the following information:
- Category Name
- Display Order
- Active (whether the category is available for use on the system or not)
Click "Save Details" once you have entered the information.
You will be returned to the list of Categories with the new one added.
Examples of Use
Once this drop-down list is set up, organisations or people can be put in a category. The field is called "Group or Type" and may need to be enabled in the Record Type Definitions page.
Reporting Outputs
Data entered using this drop-down list is available:
- In Data Extractions, both as selection criteria and as data to be output on a spreadsheet (Group or Type);
- In the KPI Report Designer as a filter (for example, the Referrals By Referrer Category report)
- On the output of the Referral Summary Report
