The "Search for Client Details" screen lets you search for clients on the system. You would also use this screen to search for clients that may not be on the system, and if you do not find them, you can add them.
All other Search pages work the same way as the Search For Client Details page.
Contents
Available search fields
The search fields that appear here are configurable from the Customisable Tab Settings page.
Always-on search fields
There are four fields that always appear on this page, in addition to any others set on Customisable Tab Settings;
- Charitylog ID number
- Emergency Card number
- Anonymous clients (show or hide in search results)
- Active (search for active clients, non-active clients, or show both in search results)
Running a search
Simply enter a search term and click "Search Now".
The results will be displayed.
Partial search terms
Partial search terms are allowed. For example, entering "Ran" rather than "Randall", as shown...
...results in clients with the surname "Randall" being shown, but also "Francis", "Durance" etc.
Case-sensitivity
As the example above shows, the search fields are not case-sensitive. Entering "randall" will give the same results as "Randall".
Using more than one search term
The more search terms you add (i.e. the more fields you search on), the narrower the results will become. For instance, searching for "Randall" gives all the clients with the surname "Randall"...
...and entering "HR9" in the postcode search field shows all the clients with that postcode...
But entering HR9 in the postcode field and Randall in the Surname field only shows those client called Randall who live in HR9 - not those called Randall or those who live in HR9.
The more search terms you enter, the narrower the search becomes. (The search function is an AND search, not an OR search.)
