Actions are tasks to be done. An Action is linked to a Referral in the same way a Contact is, but where each Contact is linked to a User to say who did the work, an Action is linked to a User, but that User is the person who will do the work.

Actions are created using the bottom half of the Record a Contact Screen. Actions are usually viewed on the Action List, where they provide reminders to users. For this reason, the Action List is usually set as your homepage when you log in.

Actions are not usually reported on in the same way as Contacts, because Contacts represent work done but Actions do not.

Actions are either outstanding or completed. When they are created, all Actions are outstanding.

  • On the Action List, Outstanding Actions have their due dates / times displayed in red if they are overdue (i.e. if the due date/time is before now)
  • On the History tab (of the person that the Action relates to), Outstanding Actions have their due dates/times displayed in red if they are overdue (i.e. if the due date/time is before now), and orange if they are not yet overdue.

Actions are converted from outstanding to completed by recording a Contact against them, using an Update button - either directly from the Action List, or from the Details Screen of the organisation/person concerned.
