The drop-down list of Transport Methods is used by the Clubs and Clinics module. Each client can have a Transport Method stored for their membership of each club/clinic/group on your system. Sometimes you will not need to know anything about their transport methods, but for some scenarios it is important. If your organisation arranges transport for the attendees (on a minibus, in taxis etc) then you will need to know which clients are travelling by which method.

You can use as many transport methods as you like for reporting purposes, and you can also have the option to produce a transport list for each method. A common method is bus/minibus so that you can produce a list of clients for the driver to pick up. Note that there is an option for 'Include in Transport List?'. This means that you will be able to print a list of all the clients who use this transport method. You would probably select 'No' for transport methods such as “Walking” or “Uses own transport” etc. The "Header" and "Footer" fields only come into play when you create a transport list for this method. The header and footer will appear at the top and bottom of the list produced, and these are ideal for writing a message to the driver of the minibus, etc.

"Transport methods from the charitylog admin menu"

The drop-down list of Transport Methods is mainly used by the Clubs and Clinics module. Each client can have a Transport Method stored for their membership of each club/clinic/group on your system. This can be used to produce reports, but also to produce printed lists automatically for each method. For example, if ten people attend a group on a minibus, you can print out a list for the minibus driver detailing the names and addresses of each person.

Transport Methods are also used on Volunteer Timesheets and on the Follow Up Details page when using Volunteer Job Card Assignments.

To set up the methods, select “Transport Methods” from the menu bar (Settings cog > Clubs & Clinics > “Transport Methods”). You will be shown the list of methods already set up, if there are any.

Click the “New Method” button and the following page will appear:-

"enter new transport method page in Charitylog, with space for the name and a header and footer if used in transport print out"border
