The People/Organisation Categories page controls the drop-down list for the "Person/Organisation Category" field, used on the [[Details Screen]]. This list is often used for categorising Organisations or Referrers (into "Voluntary Groups", "Businesses" and so on, as shown in the screenshot below), but can be used in any way you want, to categorise any Type of Organisation/Person. You could add a category for GP Surgeries, then list all your individual surgeries as referrers but the report would collate them all together.
  
You can place orgs/people on your system into Organisation and People Categories. These categories can be anything you need them to be. They are commonly used for categorising Referrers, so that they can be grouped for reporting - e.g. the categories that might be used could be;

==Setting up Organisation and People Categories==
 
 
 
Click on the menu item to see the list of Categories already set up on the system, if there are any.
 
 
 
Click on "Create New Category" to create a new one, or click on the name of an existing one to edit it.

* Active (whether the category is available for use on the system or not)

The People/Organisation Categories page controls the drop-down list for the "Person/Organisation Category" field, used on the Details Screen. This list is often used for categorising Organisations or Referrers (into "Voluntary Groups", "Businesses" and so on, as shown in the screenshot below), but can be used in any way you want, to categorise any Type of Organisation/Person.
